What: Calling filmmakers, actors, and people who like to watch movies! Join writer/director Maggie Wong for a table reading of Golden Garden Takeout, an AAPI, women-led short film about a nosy Chinese American mother who investigates whether her teenage daughter has a secret boyfriend - only to accidentally witness her devastating breakup.

Stay after the table reading to meet and mingle with fellow film people. Proceeds go toward production funds for Golden Garden Takeout.

Lil Rhee - Lil is an actor and independent film producer based in New York City with more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She’s won six Telly Awards for her work on the following shows: Top of the Morning, After Midnight, The Children’s Corner and An Evening with Kenneth Hari TV.

Eric Cheung - Eric Cheung is a NY based actor originally from San Francisco. He made his regional theater debut last year as Manford in The Great Leap at Cleveland Play House and recently workshopped new plays with Tectonic Theater Project, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, and The Theater Offensive. He’d like to thank Maggie for inviting him to do this reading and is excited to continue promoting BIPOC/underrepresented artists and stories.

Emily Locke - Emily Locke is an Asian American actress, playwright, and former consultant. She is originally from Seattle, and currently based out of Brooklyn, NY. She received her BA from Yale University as a double major in American Studies // Theater and Performance Studies.
